Virtio performance

Out of curiosity, has anybody done proper benchmarks of VirtIO NICs vs SR-IOV (10GbE)?.
I've deployed OPNsense on PVE7 with VirtIO and running a simple test I can get around 400Mbps with speedtest.net (I know, it's not iperf nor local)
I'm just looking for some figures before reconfiguring everything since it's a remote setup (colo) and requires a coordinated dance :/

@lewald Can you give me some information on your settings? I'm seeing some download speed issues using the same logical infrastructure.
