Hi

We are trying to install OPNSense on a R430 server via iDRAC (2.50.50.50) :

2 Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4
16 Go RAM (2x8)
2 SSD RAID 1 (PERC H330)

We have upgraded BIOS and RAID firmware to the latest version (respectively 2.6.0 and 25.5.4.0006).

The dvd OPNSense image is mounted via the iDRAC console.

It's very slow and we never arrive to the prompt : out of swap space (cf attached image opn2)

A strange thing is also an error about fsck : no such file or directory (cf attached image opn1)

Any idea to make the installation successful ?

Do you have physical access to try a USB install?

Bart...

I have tried with a virtual CD from the console which mount the iso.

I think there is a incompatibility with this machine and OPNSense, because I managed to install with a DVD (a real one this time  ;))

It was very slow. And then the post config is quite impossible. For example, when I want to connect as root from the console, it takes 5 minutes to go the prompt.
Another example, I have assigned interface since 20 minutes, and OPNSense display "Configuring WAN interface..." since.

Probably a problem with RAID, no ?

Hi Marcolefo,

I had a problem with the same symptoms (HP machine).

With a hint from Franco I could solve it.
I turned off HyperThreading and deactivated Cores on both CPUs in BIOS which made me possible to do the installation.

Maybe it's enough to deactivate HT. Just give it a try.
