Hi @all,

currently we use PFSENSE 8200MAX appliances and want to implement a 2nd firewall vendor.
All PFSense appliances do have a Micro USB + RJ45 Console connector which i can use to connect to our Raritan Dominion SX2 console servers for dedicated outband management.

Therefore we bought some DEC2752 for testing and evaluation purposes.
However the DEC2752 only has a MINI USB Connector for console access.

When i connect my Raritan to the USB A (USB A FTTDI to RJ45) port on the DEC2752 i get a link up, but no connection.
When i connect the original Mini USB <> USB A Cable <> USB A Female - Female Connector <> USB A FTTDI to RJ45 i won't even get a Link up.

HOW do i connect the DEC2752 successfully to the Raritan Dominion SX2 console server?
Are there any special settings for me to set?

Thank you for your help in advance.

The problem is if they have a terminal server they would need a true serial port, not a USB to serial adapter connected to a serial port, but all internally.

@snoopy7804 your only chance IMHO is to connect via USB to a Linuxy device capable of driving a Prolific USB to serial chip and running e.g. minicom, although cu, tip, screen, ... will work just as well.

Actually there's an easier way to do it where two FWs are present. Requires a USB cable connected from one to the console of the other.

First you'd ssh into the controlling FW, drop to a shell, and use this command to open the serial line to the other:

cu -s 115200 -l /dev/cuaU0
