Right configuration to access modem web GUI

I've followed the instructions by doktornotor here and that seems to work.

The issue I have (and I don't know what the root cause is) is that the modem GUI interface I created negotiates at 100 Mb/s rather than 1000 Mb/s: why on earth this is happening?

Tia.

What happens when you install a different OS on the firewall and access the modem GUI? If you mirror the switch port for the modem or the WAN interface, you can capture the traffic and confirm the interface negotiation.

The same is true for your LAN2, according to your screenshot. LAN is the only one that negotiated 2500.

Are you sure your modem port is 1000 MBit? If yes, how are they connected? That kind of issue often points to a lower level problem, like the ethernet cable used or the switch/switch port configuration. And to what is LAN2 connected?
Deciso DEC740

Thanks both, turns out I had three faulty cables :-) and when tried the forth one (and the newest one), it now negotiates at 1000 Mb/s
