My VM has 1 GB of free hard disc space. According to the update description, the upgrade has 950 MB. After downloading 2 files, the unpacking process for the first file starts. The system then stops with a full hard drive.

Well increase your storage.

The upgrade package that it downloads is compressed, it needs space to be extracted. Or you can try to upgrade it via console from a USB stick.
But so or so 1G of free storage is too low anyway.

Networking is love. You may hate it, but in the end, you always come back to it.

Add a new HDD, do a fresh 25.1 install importing the config from the old drive.

When done remove the old drive, boot up the new install and check for updates so that all plugins are downloaded and installed.

Finish up with another reboot so everything comes up as expected.

Thank you for the 2 Tips, the problem is solvd.
