LTE Modem Failure after Upgrade 24.1 to 24.7

Hi there,
we have just updated a 24.1 to 24.7 and the LTE Dialup stopped working.

It is a Quectel EC25 and actually I'm not sure if it is on the compatibility list. Nevertheless it worked on the older version. It seems OPNSense is sendint AT than ATZ and keeps doing that even the modem answers OK both times.

In the log I can see CHAT: The modem is not responding to "AT" at: labeell. (yes with the wrong spelling)

That seems like a bug to me and not dependent to the Modem itself.

Any Help is much appreciated.

I have exactly the same issue... Using a Quectel EP06-E

Through SSH, I get this

root@OPNsense:~ # cu -l /dev/cuaU0.2
Connected
AT
OK
AT+CPIN
ERROR

But if I connect the modem to my pc, the internet is ok...

EDIT: I have connected the modem to another OPNSense, with the old version, the modem works... So, it is 100% something from the new update...

Multiple people seem to be having this issue, with various LTE Devices.
But don't seem to be getting anywhere on a resolution.

Comment https://github.com/opnsense/src/issues/214#issuecomment-2557723498 presents a solution that gives me connectivity, at least for a short period of time.

For me this is a new implementation so there may be other settings that I need to tweak. Does anyone else here have an Teltonika TRM500? The modem shows up as Quectel RM520N-GL).
