New Dashboard Widgets - Customise?

Hi,

Just spun up a new 24.7 to play with before upgrading, and I'm trying to re-create the legacy dashboard, which I can almost do, but I have a question.

Take for example, the CPU widget....On the old dashboard it was basically a one liner, but on the new one, it's quite a large widget that includes Total, Interrupt, User, System etc, so its a rather deep widget.

On the legacy dashboard you could customise the widgets slightly, like Thermal Sensors for example, you could choose just to show one, rather than them all, but you dont appear to be able to do that now? (New dashboard efaults to one anyway, but I mean the principal of it)

It's not a complaint :), I just wanted to 100% check I'm not missing something here.

Adding customization functionality is a work in progress:
https://github.com/opnsense/core/commit/104fcf941269965d47bc82eea1b396414109b404

In this commit the interfaces widget receives custumization options.
Hardware:
DEC740

OOOh, nice!

I'd definitely like to see the CPU as a one liner graph or bar like the old, and I did notice the thermal widget...sometimes....pops all the cores in, then collapses and looks a bit weird until refreshed.

Overall though, yes, I'm a fan of the new Dashboard. It's very slick....

I tested a fresh install using the 24.7 DVD image using TinyPilot Voyager 2a virtual mount and it worked *perfectly*.

I want to vote for this one too... I know it's a work in progress. Just don't let it go :)

-Sophos XG135 v.3

Keep in mind many years of tweaks went into the old dashboard so we can approach this one by one.

I'm also kinda missing a thin bar graph for the disk usage. I don't trust the gauge graph for some reason. ;)

Cheers,
Franco

Maybe just an idea, but if implementation allows in future to give the new GUI ability to choose between the gauge or bar graph.

Anyway that was my assumption as well that, you will with time fine tune the widgets to give them more options and customization (for example the old general log widget was awesome, severity, specific filtering)
