Question in regards to new version for 24.7 opsense

Is the cloud management required to be installed . When i tried to installed Zenarmor on rc2 24.7 it did the initial set up but said some about the cloud node being down. That was with the SQlite while mono works on 24.1.10 . I remember vaguely  few months ago there was a post about something changed an it was required to have it installed.

Hi,

The cloud management and cloud nodes are separate features. You need to install cloud management if you would like to manage Zenarmor on the cloud.  If the cloud nodes seem offline, please run the recheck reputation servers in Settings - Cloud Threat Intelligence - Cloud Reputation Servers.

@sy: I think you misunderstood the issue the OP is trying to convey. What he presumably meant, is that starting with the 24.7 release candidates, the local Zenarmor management (the one in the OPNsense GUI) is not working anymore when the cloud agent (os-sensei-agent) is not installed, configured, and connected to the cloud management servers.

I just ran into this myself as well. You get some kind of 'can't connect' error when opening the Zenarmor submenu of the OPNsense GUI, even after initial setup and configuration. On OPNsense versions up to 24.1, Zenarmor could be used perfectly fine with only local administration.

Thanks for the explanation, I mean also the same. Some fixes are needed on the OPNsense and Zenarmor side for on-premise UI for 24.7.  You will be able to use it like previous versions.
