I am currently running ES database 5 on my system.  I was wondering if there are any reasons to upgrade to the newer version of 8?  Also if there are good benifits, is there a simple way to do it?

Thanks!

Zenarmor has no more specific hardware requirements for Elasticsearch 8 than version 5. Version 5 of Elasticsearch is no longer updated, so we recommend installing version 8. For active users, we maintain the installation of version 5 and make it easy to reinstall it if necessary.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to migrate from Elasticsearch 5 to Elasticsearch 8 by storing traffic data.

I am fine loosing traffic data moving from 5 to 8 if i can keep my configuration otherwise.  What would be the steps to swap over

The configuration will be preserved. With the command below, the wizart phase will come again and you will be able to change only your database selection.
If you experience any problems, please send feedback.

Run the following command on the Cli with root privileges.

rm -f /usr/local/zenarmor/etc/.configdone

Then open any Zenarmor menu and complete the wizard steps.

Send feedback for submission. Can you share the logs and configuration by following the instructions in the link below?

Worked like a charm!  Now on ES 8 and besides using a little more RAM it is working well.  I have plenty of RAM so not really worried just an observation.
