5g Failover hardware question

Hey guys,

So I have a protectli Vault (running opnsense), and am looking to add failover WAN to it via 5g service.  Mainly so my security camera's will continue working in the even of my main WAN going down.  And I'm trying to figure out what hardware I should use, and the pickings seem to be thin in the USA for 5g modem's.

The 5g service provider will be GoogleFi, just for reference.

My current plan is to buy a Moto G 5g phone, from GoogleFi which is on sale right now for $60, and just tether the internet out via the USB to the protectli vault router.

Does anyone have a better suggestion?  Or know of any issues that might arise from this?

I do exactly what you want with my setup.

I have an AliEpress N5105 running OPNSense with my primary cable router.
For 5G failover, I use one of these. (Be warned they are not cheap)

Works perfectly for me, and has come in handy on more than a few occasions.
