Updated to 23.7.8_1 and WebGUI no longer works properly over OpenVPN

Since updating 3 routers to 23.7.8_1, the WebGUI doesn't work properly over OpenVPN.  Nothing in the Firmware section will update (just spins), unable to reboot (clicking Yes at "Are you sure you want to reboot the system?" does nothing.)  2 of the routers are at new sites so I updated another that's been around for a couple years (and previously worked fine over the VPN connection) and get the exact same behavior.

These are 2 recently installed routers, need to install a Plugin so I updated them first.  After the update, I go to Firmware, Status and it just spins.  Rebooted, same thing.  The Firmware Log is empty.  Not sure where to look next...

Also unable to reboot using the WebGui, press the button and nothing happens, have to use SSH. 

No repositories are listed under Firmware, Settings.  Same for Type.

I upgraded these routers from 23.7.?? downloaded on October 6th.

Appears to be a WebGUI problem, I can SSH in, select option 12 to Update and it acts like it should, checks for an update and tells me there's nothing to do.  Hopefully the next update will fix this...

I'm pretty sure a reboot will fix this too.

Thank you, reboots did not fix it.  Turns out this behavior with the WebGUI is only when I'm accessing it over OpenVPN.  If I access it from a local machine it works fine.  Unsure why this changed!

That's odd. Normally this hangs because "pkg" binary in the background will not fetch/compute the data required for the GUI and at some point it gets "stuck". Best way to diagnose is to kill the binaries and see if the GUI renders the data then:

# killall pkg
# killall pkg-static

I've updated another router to the latest and am getting the same behavior; the WebGUI doesn't work properly when accessed over the VPN.  This is a change as it's worked in all previous versions!

I installed OPNsense for the first time today and encountered exactly this problem. Fresh install of 23.7 from dvd iso, update all packages and reboot and I see what you see. No VPN here though, both client and OPNsense are running in VMs.
