Hello,

having this time some trouble with upgrading to 16.1.16 via the Dashboard. The process runs through until the message

Registering root shell

and then the UI hangs forever. No popup window that system is rebooting. The services are still normally running.

After 30min. I enforced a reboot via terminal and the system came up in the second attempt again. Dashboard issue has been reported already ...

Br br

Hi Br br,

Did you check the uptime before rebooting after 30 minutes? The update runs detached so it may very well update. Can you provide your current version info? You are quite likely on OPNsense 16.1.16 with FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-p18.

This "sync loss" is a bug that was addressed in 16.1.15 I believe. The current development version also has a "always resume" enhancement for the firmware GUI so you will be able to reattach, just hit F5 should something like this happens. ;) Will hopefully be in 16.1.17.

Long story short: there's no particular need to leave the window open unless it's interesting to you.

Cheers,
Franco

Hello Franco,

my Version info is:
OPNsense 16.1.16-amd64
FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-p18
OpenSSL 1.0.2h 3 May 2016

I did check the uptime and opnsense was running, The trick with F5 I will try next time

B(est) r(egards) br  ;D ;D

Looking good.

Note that Firmware Update resume shipping is pending 16.1.17 or 16.1.18 now and won't work until after it's installed. :D
