Unbound DNS fails to resolve after loss of WAN connectivity

Hi,
Every time I loose WAN connectivity the Unbound DNS service fails to resolve anything. A manual restart of the Unbound DNS service restores connectivity. This is happening across all 3 OPNsense installation I have access to, all installed on various types of hardware, including one on a VM.
Note that when I state loss of WAN, it means connectivity to the internet at large, such as the configured upstream name servers fails. It is not a bounce of the physical WAN connection.
Thanks,
Adi

Searching the forum, this is a similar report I've just come across.
