With "Less Secure" depreciated for gmail, how are you getting notifications?

I use a gmail account for all of my notifications monit, zenarmor, etc.  However when google depreciated the "Less Secure" access in favor of OAUTH I'm not longer getting notifications and haven't seen much talk on adding OAUTH support.  Assuming this might be up to the maintainers of each plugin/application.  Curious what others use for notifications?

An email provider that supports SMTP plain text auth over TLS?

Correct, wasn't sure what providers others were using.

web.de, GMX, Apple, ... all but Google it seems ;)

Can't you just setup an 'app specific password'?

I assume mine is still working, port 465, SSL enabled, etc, as of 5 days ago:

Yep, just tested - seems to work with app specific password.

I use it with Monit, to forward via email to PushOver for notifications.

Thank you that worked, I thought the option no longer existed because I didn't see it.  You have to enable 2FA before the option is available.  Enabled 2FA for my alert account, setup app password, alerts are working again.  Thanks for the help.

I totally feel your pain with the recent changes Google made to their security measures. It's definitely made things a little trickier for those of us who rely on Gmail accounts for our notifications. I haven't personally encountered this issue yet, but I can imagine it's frustrating. As for your question about what others use for notifications, have you considered using phone verified accounts (PVA accounts)? I know it may sound a little unconventional, but it could be worth a try. In fact, I've used PVA accounts myself for a marketing campaign and it worked out really well.
