DEC3800/ A20 Netboard FAN Replacement
«

Has anyone replaced the fan on one of these units and knows what type of fan exactly is used inside or if it is possible at all?
The rendering of the netboard[0] seems to imply there is a 3-PIN Header available which must be the one feeding this screaming abomination by default with power
.
So I assume I should be able to install instead a less powerful 40mm fan in it's place, like standard pc stuff? The DEC3850 looks like decent hardware so far, but right now I hear it even two rooms further, through closed doors...

While i wouldn't mind voiding the warranty on doing so, I still would like to know
before
I void my warranty opening the case to maybe just notice it isn't possible...
