[SOLVED] RRD tool discontinued... But what else?

Hi.

After upgrading to current production version I've noticed, that RRD graphs are missing. Why? It was (at least for me) very important tool to monitor of behaviour in my network Now the only possibility is to look at traffic graphs, but  they doesn't keep historical data.

Is it possible to add something like RRD tool again to OpnSense? Or is possible to acquire such data for external analysis on other hosts?

The RRD graphs were removed a while ago and replaced with the "health" display. My recommendation would be to use monitoring software on another server on your  LAN, you can take a look at something like LibreNMS or the Open Monitoring Distribution from here: http://omdistro.org/ It really depends on your needs and requirements but I use both of those monitoring solutions and they work well. You'll also find further details in the forums on the reasons that the rrd graphs were removed and in addition, the data is still available.

Go to "System: Health". Also, the RRD generation framework is still there and you can still export these files / their data. The only thing that changed is the front end.

Incidentally, pfSense replaced their front end for RRD just one or two days ago for the upcoming 2.3.

Meanwhile, is it possible to change the naming of interfaces there? Currently it shows interfaces as "OptX" and previously OpnSense shows interfaces by their descriptions Would be great to keep this convention, if it is possible...
