As I got unexplained problems after an upgrade to the latest 21.1.6 I wish to reinstall with an older image from a USB stick.

Where can I download older versions?

Thanks.

Thanks.
But what if I wish to install with an older version from scratch?
Like for the new firewall hardware I bought?

Hi JohnnyBeee,

You should start at OPNsense download page.

Scroll down to "Full OPNsense Mirror listing" and select a mirror server of your choice.

You will see:

Thanks Thomas, but the updates available at the location you indicate seem to be the latest builds again.

Hi JohnnyBeee,

From github I got that 21.1.3 was released on Math 9th.

As all Images I found have "only" 21.1 in their file names and the timestamp indicate creation on June 4th I assume that only 21.1.5 is available as image.

So I started a google search for you.

This server seems to be outdated. Perhaps you will get the image you want.

Kind Regards
Thomas

Hi Franco,

Thanks for your hint.

I assume that the setting the reddit article is talking about will be done in the the System -> Firmware -> Settings pane.

I use the following settings:

  • Mirror: (default)
  • Flavour: OpenSSL
  • Type: Community

But if I enter some value to the Subscription field I get the error message "Subscription cannot be set for non-subscription firmware mirror."

Unfortunately the documentation does not mention the subscription field.

Do you know some details? Can you please advice where and how to apply the change fitch-it-is is talking about at reddit.

Kind Regards,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

It was a post by myself so it's easy to answer any questions. ;)

So the OP wanted a 21.1.3 image. There is none. If you install 21.1 you can't get to 21.1.3 anymore by default, but with the above steps you can reach it still even if a newer update is available.

You don't need a subscription with the community edition so the field to change is "firmware flavour" and you set it to "(other)" and now you can enter the path of the update...

Cheers,
Franco
