USB to Ethernet interface removed on reboot

I am using actual version 19.7.8 and  have installed it on a intel Nuc with one build in Ethernet Adaptor and one USB- Ethernet Adaptor (D-Link DUB-1312). Now opnsense does not always recognize this adaptor after reboot. Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not. Always when I have no access anymore on my LAN network (on USB-Ethernet adaptor the LAN is connected to) the I connect via VPN over the WAN network (intel NUC's internal adaptor is connected to this) to opnsense. If I then reboot it recogizes the USB adaptor again.

I cannot see any difference and I have already tested to install the os-boot-delay and check the lock option on the interface.
There has been the same discussion already for 17.7 under https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=6671.0.

Any ideas or experiance how to make the recognition reliable?

Thanks.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have a 5th gen i7 NUC and going to try it with a USB Ethernet adapter.

USB is per definition not 100% reliable. If you can, avoid using it for networking purposes.

Cheers,
