Hi,

My OPNsense box has been running great for many months. I decided to upgrade from 18.7 to 19.1 today and now my system won't boot.

I downloaded the latest 19.1 image, burned it to a USB drive, and when booting from it, I get the same error.

My hardware is ~6 months old. I built the system specifically to run OPNsense. Do you have any idea what might be wrong?

Thanks,
John

Hi,

I would like to add my failure installing 19.1 on HW only, brand new Gbyte B360WIFI Mainboard with lntel B360 chipset. CPU is a i5-8400. BIOS is the latest one available. When I begin to boot the 19.1 image either by UEFI or by BIOS shortly after the boot menu, I get the kernel trap 12. I also tried installing 18.7, which worked, but after an upgrade attempt I could not boot into 19.1 any more.
I tried following tunables (no luck):
set vm.pmap.pti=0
set hw.ibrs_disable=1

Also tried (should just go for AMD, but who knows; still no luck):

hint.hpet.0.clock=0
hint.ahci.0.msi=2
hint.sdhci_pci.0.disabled=1
hint.sdhci_pci.1.disabled=1

Any further ideas please ?

BR

Ps: the good news is that on the system I was trying to replace with the much more performant new i5-8400, 19.1 install went OK (only after 19.1.1 upgrade though), that's an Celeron N3150 on an Asus N3150I-C SOC.
