18.7.6 Trashed the firewall

Hi. I am new to this forum and have a basic understanding of linux but by no means an expert. I was using the opnsense GUI to update from 18.7.5 to 18.7.6 it was taking a long time but finally rebooted. However it never came back from the update. When I had this problem before I went and logged in as root and deleted all the update packages and it reloaded them and problem solved. However, I can't remember where the packages are installed so can I get some help for that directory. Also, I believe clam is what is trashed. I can reboot on an old kernal in safe mode and it will stablize for about 5 minutes then something happens and it reboots. So my second question is there a config file that i can edit at the root level (director needed) where I can disable clam from running?

When you do a normal boot what is shown on the console? Does it boot until the login? If so can you login? When you can login try to reset it to factory defaults (option 4).
BTW OPNsense is not linux based, it's freebsd.

Sorry about the trashing. Can you give more details about the type of trashing occurring.
There's no indication what went wrong in your post. emwe is correct, there should at least be a console output with an error to report here.
Thanks,
Franco
