[SOLVED] IDS not updating rulesets

i have 18.7.1 compiled from source using 'make vm-vmdk' deployed the resulting VM, ran check update and updated to 18.7.2.

I am now trying to run IDS download & update rules and it is not doing anything. waited for an hour but see no rules being dowloaded.

I also looked at similar issue in https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=7067.0
and that got me thinking to look at the following uri for py27 packages references in the above forum post.

https://pkg.opnsense.org/FreeBSD:11:amd64/18.7/latest/All/
I seem to have the latest packages as listed.




Solution:
enable the rulesets first. then click download updates button.. that should do the job.


not sure how to proceed and get the rules downloaded.

Alternatively if you can point me to do this before compiling i can downloaded them and make the vm image again.
