Use Firewall aliases in the traffic shaper?

I am coming over from PFSense because I really like Limiters with FQ_CODEL. One thing I am really missing is not being able to use Aliases for the Traffic Shaper and for Routes.
Are there any plans to make the firewall aliases available to the traffic shaper and to routes?

Hi there,
The roadmap for 18.7 talks about an API for aliases as a first step on our way to the full fledged firewall API. Traffic shaping is also an API component so that would make sense to combine them when we have reached that milestone.
For routes they were removed in the last alias rework, nobody seemed to use them and the code was worth ditching even if that means a rebuild in the end.
So while I can't promise this it has been asked quite a few times and we're slowly working towards that goal even if it does seem so at first glance.
As for alias routes, what do you expect them to do? Set a route to the gateway for each host/network specified? (Sorry if that is a silly question, but I want to make sure that's understood.)
Cheers,
Franco
