AHCI Timeout and Reboot problem

Hi,
I bought a mini computer, with 6 ports of etnernet and intel i3 3700, which was positioned by the seller under the router. But I faced two problems:

1. When the system is rebooted or turned off, the uptime shows nothing further.
2. After the second reboot of the already installed system on the SSD drive (mPCIe), the AHCI channel timeout occurs.
:-[ :'(

Here is a screenshot:

There is a lot of writing that this is in 11 FreeBSD is this problem - do not agree.

The last PFsense on FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE-p6 is working fine.
But I like this product, and I would like to use OPNsense

Can someone tell me where to look?

Hi there,

The AHCI change you are looking for: https://github.com/opnsense/core/commit/8e85edd4

We've been on FreeBSD 11.0 for a year and quite happy with it. But then 11.1 came out so that's what is next.

Incidentally, 18.1-RC1 is coming out tomorrow as scheduled with both things hopefully fixed. :)

Franco

Hi, franco

Thanks for the answer.
But this setting does not help.
I entered it in loader.conf.local
The problem did not dare.

And with the 18.1-RC1 images?

Cheers,
Franco

No, I contributed only those settings that are referenced by github.
I could not find the image 18.1-RC1. Can you give me a link to it?

The problem with rebooting is no more.
The problem with the AHCI timeout is not fixed.

Hi, Franco

I spent many more experiments with the configuration of the system, but on my computer configuration it does not want to work. But if I replace my mPCI 512 GB drive with a SATA drive of 128 GB, the system starts to boot without problems. Both hard drives from the company SAMSUNG

If this is on amd64, what happens when you install using MBR mode instead? We have seen GPT being destroyed by the occasional blue moon... it's not been the most fun we've had getting some of those issues fixed.

Cheers,
Franco

Hi, Franco

I put it many times in different modes, but I checked MBR again, a miracle did not happen, after the second reboot, the AHCI timeouts

Konstantin

Hi Konstantin,

Sorry, no idea what's going on there. ;(
