[SOLVED] Upgrade 16.7x and 17.1.x to 17.7.x

Hello all!

I have versions 16.7.14 and 17.1.7 of OPNSense.

I want to upgrade to 17.7.x

Can I upgrade from version 16.7 to 17.7.x?
Can I upgrade from version 17.1.x to 17.7.x?

Do I first upgrade to the latest version of each release and then run the command below?

opnsense-update -ur 17.7

Just performed an upgrade from 16.7.x to 17.7.1 yesterday on two OPNsense boxes.
The answer to your question is: First you need to upgrade from 16.7 to 17.1, then from 17.1.x you're ready to upgrade to 17.7.x.

Do I first upgrade to the latest version of each release and then run the command below?

opnsense-update -ur 17.7

Just use option 12 "Upgrade from console" from the OPNsense console menu, it will automatically choose the right upgrade path for you.

Please use console option 12 for a quick upgrade path from 16.7 to 17.1 and then to 17.7. Running individual (and potentially partial) commands is risky.

Some had difficulty on major upgrades, don't type "y", type "17.1" or "17.7" when it offers that.
