Update process - update catalogue is downloaded twice

Greetings!

I have the following question:
why is the update catalogue downloaded twice, when updating ?

Update process:

fetching update catalogue -> update info is displayed and then the update catalogue is downloaded again and the the files.

Some commands fetch update status internally before we (forcefully) fetch it to get a clean result. To some degree this is unavoidable.
