Hello all,
some days ago I updated  Opnsense to 26.1.5 and migrated my firewall rules to the new format.  I made some changes and noticed thet these are NOT reflected in the old interface .

Is this normal ?

If yes I would appreciate a chance to switch the old interface off.

Thanks for listening !

Norbert
Kind regards and thanks !

It will. In due time in a future version. We are all using a work in progress at the moment.

Thanks a lot fr the fast reply. I conclude that I can delete all entries in the OLD lists then ? This would help too.
Kind regards and thanks !

That should be the last step in the migration assistant. Weren't you offered that option?

I am a newcomer to OPNsense, but I wanted to add that I am similarly confused by this. After running the migration assistant, including the 'delete legacy' step, I am left with collapsed menus of "automatically generated rules," "floating rules," and "rules from automation" in my legacy rules menu. These are seemingly updated when I make new rules in the new interface. My initial understanding was that the legacy rules were just updated automatically based on the rules in the new interface, and basically serves as a vestigial display. However, there are very many rules that are autogenerated and shown in the legacy menu which are not present in the new menu, which is confusing.

For Firewall: Rules [new], clicking on the Inspect button will toggle the view of auto generated rules and, if applicable, floating rules.

See https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/firewall.html#inspect-button.

I'm nagging Cedrik a bit over the recurrence of this simple and documented explanation. People appear to keep asking and I will keep that topic on the dev agenda to see if we can simplify this back to where it was on the old page.
