Crash after upgrade to 25.7

My system crashed after 25.7 upgrade..

any ideas what this error message is?

Looks like something went quite wrong during the update. I had something similar on one system with the update to 25.1.11 or .12. As in my case the system did not properly boot any more and the only solution was a fresh install.

If you know the local disk name (depending on the used hardware it could be da0, ad0, vtbd0 or such), then during the install process you should be able to load the last config from the disk. If I remember correctly it worked to even do a fresh disk format. I guess this works only as long as the system does not crash or lose power during this. After the install also apply any pending updates.

PS: In case you do not have a current local copy of the configuration, boot installer into live and recover the config.xml from the local disk (/config/) e.g. with scp (not sure if copying to USB key drive may also work). Just in case you may need to install again without being able to load it from local disk.
