Hello,

New with Opnsense.

Old setup.

Arris Surfboard SB6190 cable modem ---> TP-Link W6000 ---> Netgear unmanaged switch --->

I have multiply ports forward for AMP game server, home assistant... to proxmox home server.

Purchased Protectli vault and installed  OPNsense, setup port forwarding and put in place.

Arris Surfboard SB6190 cable modem ---> Protectli VP2420 ---> Netgear unmanaged switch ---> TP-Link W6000 (AP mode)

After everything boots I have internet access and great speed.

I checked my WAN IP address and I have been assigned a different IP but it doesn't match what is reported by OPNsense. Tried both WAN IP's to see if I could connect to the game server. No luck.

Shut everything down and put system back to original until I can fix the issue. When I put the W6000 back in router mode I get my old WAN IP back and everything works.

Should I spoof the mac from the TP Link w6000 so I get the same WAN IP? If I do that will it give me problems using the W6000 as an AP?

I KNOW I am missing something. IP not matching and stopping the access to the opened ports.

I have searched the forums and wiped OPNsense and reinstalled it.

Any help would be appreciated.

There's more than 1 IP address involved. "My" is not specific.

Are you talking about the WAN IP (first device after your modem)?
Getting a different IP when you switch routers is not surprising (different MAC/ClientID).

Note that the IP displayed on the dashboard by default is a gateway IP.
You'll need to add the interface widget or look at Interfaces > Overview to find the WAN IP.
