Anti-Virus on OPNSense

I would like to enable an anti-virus on my OPNSense "router" to scan all incoming (at a minimum) and outgoing traffic. However a guide I was looking at last week said I had to configure OPNSense as a proxy server. I do not want to use a proxy server.
Is there another way to scan all incoming and outgoing traffic for virus'?

No, because you cannot scan encrypted traffic.
