Which plugin brought elasticsearch? You can adjust the configuration to limit memory usage.
The kern.maxfiles setting can be added as a tunable. Type "sysctl kern.maxfiles" in a root shell, double or quadruple that value, add a tunable with kern.maxfiles and the new value from the UI.
