SSID not broadcasting

Hello. First post. I've used pfsense in the past, but this is my first opnsense. *thumbs up* I'm running on the hardware linked below. The $120 model. So far everything is working great on version 24.1.9, EXCEPT wifi. I've got it configured as far as I can tell. Interfaces | wifi | Devices; found rtw880_wlan1 set as Infrastructure (BSS). Interfaces [WLAN1] is configured. SSID is set to my desired AP name. But it doesn't look like it is broadcasting. None of my devices see this wireless AP. I don't see a hide or broadcast checkbox or button. What am I missing here?

FreeBSD and WiFi don't really work hand in hand very well...
Also the systems listed on that page are way overkill for a FW.

Support 4K Triple Displays, Wi-Fi6/BT5.2, 2xUSB3.2 Port, 2xUSB3.0 Port, 2xHDMI, 1x Type-C
A better option would be to
a) Get a dedicated FW from AliExpress/Protectli/Deciso - check the Hardware subforum for existing threads
b) Get a recent AP from Unifi - running the controller on the FW.

Are you are saying that even though the hardware is detected by the OS and the interface is in my opnsense webgui, that it wont work?
I'd like to get this to work as an AP if possible.

AP mode in FreeBSD is flaky at best and depending on the hardware - even if detected - might not be supported at all.
You might have some success with installing Proxmox and virtualising OPNsense. A second VM could run a small Linux installation serving as the AP.
