HA with One Physical Node and One Virtual Node
«

Hello all,
I would like to setup HA with my OPNsense nodes, with a physical node and virtual node. Once I get HA setup I am going to failover to my virtual node and remove the physical node, so I can then build a new virtualization host and make another virtual node.
Any issues in getting the physical node and virtual node to work?
Thanks,
Steve

You need the same interfaces names. I guess that could be a problem.

The interface names I give them or the hard interface names.
The issue I see is the pfSync interface. One would be off the physical node and the other would have to go through the hypervisor.

The "hard" interface names. ethX,ensX,igbX,igcX a.s.o
You can use a lagg/trunk to avoid that problem.
if you have several ethernet ports at the virtual machine you can passthrough the ethernet port.
