Hello,

What FS.COM module is compatible the most with the Deciso DEC3840, Broadcom or Marvell?

https://www.fs.com/de-en/products/74680.html?attribute=27&id=3350408
OR
https://www.fs.com/de-en/products/111924.html?attribute=26184&id=479666

Also, shall I select GENERIC, FS or what else as for compatibility?

Thanks!!

You can find the list here, at the bottom:
https://shop.opnsense.com/product/dec3840-opnsense-rack-security-appliance/

Thanks Patrick, I'm aware. However, the list does not specify whether that is the Broadcom or the Marvell one. Also, it does not say anything about which code must be selected (generic, FS, Cisco, etc.)

For e.g. fibre, short range it specifies this product:

https://www.fs.com/products/11589.html

I don't see a Broadcom vs. Marvel option, here. I'd expect "generic" and "FS" both to work, but if you want to make 100% sure, you should probably send an email to Deciso.

Kind regards,
Patrick

Hey Patrick, that's a fibre one...I'm looking for an RJ45. But I think you're right, pinging Deciso shall be pain free (hopefully)

Don't use copper with 10G - they are running painfully hot and experience shows they are rather unreliable in general. Use fibre wherever possible - it's better.

We use "generic" modules in all our DECs without any problems.

Thanks Raketen!
Do you have experience with 10G on your DECs?

Mine is behaving bizarrely...10G is fine, 1G is 350/940
