Categories and Color (alias entries)

I love the category feature and the color option is generally fantastic. However; I seem to be experiencing a problem I cannot correct. The firewall category items without a color assigned seem to be displaying a single color assigned to other items, green in my current case ONLY on the Firewall Aliases screen. I am considering assigning all items a color such as white so they hide on the standard OPNsense background or Black for a dark background. Is this the preferred solution? Is there a default color option for categories with no assignment where I can change this? Should categories without a color assignment display no color dot at all (my preferred solution) on the Firewall Alias screen?
Attachment added -- every port_ or ports_ alias contains a category Port(s). As you can see from the first entry that Ports dot is green. One of the green dots on every other entry shown is also Port(s). You can see from the category list screen and the Ports edit screen that no color is present. In the bottom three entries the other green dot is Block, the second is BOOTP and the third is DNS all like ports have no color assigned.
You can see a hint (the last two categories) that my primary use of color is by VLan (interface) When I have rules with multiple colors I know to double check them for inconsistency. There are some legal mixed colors (adults can be adults and/or guests, dhcp users in the children's network are also considered children and guests) It would be nice in a similar manner if interfaces (including their address, net, gateway and other associated names had colors instead of dots the names could display in the interface color so the same color checking works across the interface related entries in the rules to the category dots. My preference for most VLans is that there be no cross-vlan communication which is why the colors work in my case.

Can you try to explain what you mean with a screenshot or two?
Thanks,
