Upgrade stuck

I started an upgrade from 22.7.8 yesterday evening. I left it unattended and was a bit surprised to find it still running after 12+ hours.
The GUI keeps printing out dots like it's still running, but obviously nothing's happening.
Looking in the file /tmp/opnsense-fetch.out.pwMk1M i can see the following text repeating forever.
fetch: /var/cache/opnsense-update/22420/base-22.7.9-amd64.txz.sig appears to be truncated: 0/1332 bytes
fetch: transfer timed out
My guess is that the mirror I'm using has some issues.
Unfortunately I need to leave the site for a few days and I am a bit concerned to interrupt the upgrade with a reboot.
Is it safe to reboot at this point or should I consider some other action?

Update: I had to leave and it appears the upgrade timed out after ca 24 hours. I switched to another mirror and now the upgrade seems to proceed the way it should
