SFP+ ports shut down once assigned as any interface

Good day,
I am having a frustrating time setting up OPNsense as a firewall. I am running it on an F5 Big IP 2000 which has 2 SFP+ Cages and 8, 1G copper ports. I am trying to use the 10Gbe SFP+ Cages as both my LAN and WAN interfaces, but what happens is that as soon as OPNsense grabs those ports, they shut down. What I mean is that the link state LED on those ports stays up on both ends of each connection if OPNsense is running but does not have assignments for those specific ports (which it sees as ix0 and ix1). As soon as I assign them to anything, they shut off and the link state LED's turn off. In the GUI, the ports are all listed as expected, but they show "No Carrier". There are never any issues if I assign any of the 8 copper NIC's (igb0 - igb7) to the LAN or WAN interfaces. It seems as if the software is not loading the correct drivers for these interfaces.
Its also possible that there could be some compatibility issues with the transceivers I have in those SFP+ cages, but I am skeptical of this since the problem only happens when OPNsense tries to do anything with them. Regardless, I am using an FS 74680 10GBASE-T SFP+ Copper RJ-45 30m Optical Transceiver Module in ix0 for the WAN connection, and an FS 74668 10GBASE-SR SFP+ 850nm 300m DOM Duplex LC MMF Optical Transceiver Module for the LAN side in ix1. The issue happens with both ports/modules, which is why I don't think its a hardware problem.
I suppose my question, is if I need to install a special driver to use these, or if there is something I am missing. This seems to be over my head, and I am at a standstill with how to proceed. Any assistance would be humbly appreciated.
