EDIT - just realised this

Wifi option:

    wle200nx / wle600vx / wle900vx wifi module (wle600vx not supported by all operating systems)
    2 pigsma pigtail cable
    2 antsma / antsmadb antenna

so if i get the 900, as its got 3 antenna/pigtail connections i can only use 2 as my case has only got room for 2 antenna/pigtail connections, will this work

or shall i just get the 200

Note that OPNsense is based on BSD. BSD has crappy WIFI support.
AFAIK only "a/b/g/n" are supported.
Also i have bad reception experience with those antenna's.

I would recommend to:
* Buy a nice WIFI Access Point. Someting like a TP-Link Omada or Ubiquiti. In this case you can later also expand with separate SSID's (guest, iot) VLAN's. I bought the eap245 and i am happy with it.
* If you already have a old Wifi router you can probably enable "bridge" mode and set a static ip. (disable the routing part).
