Just curious. Who's deciding the code names?

Zed is always great: zigzagging zebra
X might be hard, but... xeric xerus

My vote is for:

Oscillating Ocelot

It's a quirky reference to other distribution's naming that we had since the beginning. We pick a name internally, mention it once or twice in release material but that's mostly it. Version numbers are far better to reference. ;)

The names are just a little fun and whimsey...

22.7 = Protective Penguin ;)

It would be funnier if we had more flexibility to play with it like "overprotective penguin" but I don't want to change the traditional rules before we have completed the cycle with zealous zebra obviously. ;)

I was thinking of zelous zebra first, but I tried to use adjectives that actually fit to the animal. I recall watching a  documentary a while back where zebras did not run in a straight line when fleeing, but rather took a zig zag course. But maybe that's just a wrong memory.

But the xerus is definitely xeric....

However, I love the `Oscillating Ocelot` which was suggested by TheShyNetworker and I'm sure the ocelot is in fact not oscillating. Haha.
