Hello,

We are using OPNSENSE since last year with version 19.5.x
Upgrade to 19.7 -> 19.7.10 -> 20.1 -> 20.1.9 are running without problems !

But upgrade to 20.7 does not complete correctly

Health check display the following:
***GOT REQUEST TO AUDIT HEALTH***
>>> Check installed kernel version
Version 20.7 is incorrect, expected: 20.1.7
>>> Check for missing or altered kernel files
No problems detected.
>>> Check installed base version
Version 20.1.7 is correct.
>>> Check for missing or altered base files
No problems detected.
>>> Check for and install missing package dependencies
Checking all packages: .......... done
>>> Check for missing or altered package files
Checking all packages: .......... done
>>> Check for core packages consistency
Checking core packages: ..................................................................... done
***DONE***

What went wrong ? The Upgrade at reboot on console are scrolling fast and I can not see everything  :(
Is there a logfile on system where the complete upgrade process is logged to get further information ?

After doing a "opnsense-update -f" from console - everything will be set to 20.1.9 and health check are OK for everything.

Thx for help or giving some tips

As a alternate solution I have to make a complete new 20.7.1 installation with inport a config backup file.

What's the error when unlocking 20.7 and starting the upgrade?

I can not remember to any error at this point.
Unlock, Start Upgrade and a window dsplayed that some reboots my required.
I think the problem occurs while doing tasks while restarting

You can restart the update, right?

It took the kernel but aborted during base install...

Cheers,

Yes it looks like this.

I can start a video recording to a mp4 file on my KVM console and start Upgrade from OPNsense console.
Then we can better see what happens there.

But I'm not at the office until next week. So it take a while ....
Let you know
