Opnsense: 20.1
Bare metal: Watchguard xtm 515
Memory 2gb Corsair
Cpu: Xeon L5410
Booting with 16gb CF Card(waste of space but had one laying around) to install on 120gb ssd
Kitty/super putty/putty - 115200 / 8 / 1 / none /
Cisco Serial Cable (usb -> console)

Previously had Pfsense installed using same setup no issue(wanted to try Opnsense).

I boot up Watchguard with CF card installed, got through the motions and get to the prompt to enter login and password.  At login prompt after the colon there is a space then you enter (root or installer). ie, LOGIN:_root. When i hit enter to enter password, the cursor jumps to the password field but there i s no space after the colon and I  cant move cursor nor enter password. I have tried with all four versions of Opnsense same issue.

It looks normal. The password cursor doesn't move and you proved that "root" could be typed. Just enter "opnsense" and hit enter and you should be good...

Than you for the response.

Unfortunately, Opnsense may not have been made to run on a Watchguard XTM 5 series. It looks fine but the cursor location for the password should have a space between the colon.

How it should look

login: installer
password: Opnsense

What actually happens is the cursor's fixed position for password prompt is broken. It should be programmed to  leave a space after the colon then you enter password (password: opnsense). Which is not happening and will not advance to the space where characters should be entered. Tried now three different laptops and 4 pcs that I have.

login: installer
password:

No. *This* *is* *how* *it* *works*. :)
