Currently running OPNsense 18.7.10_4 - has been great  :)

I usually like to get a few releases in before upgrading a major version - so we're now on 19.1.6, should I give it a go ?

If everything works, why upgrade? If new features from 19.1. are needed, I would do maximum 19.1.4.
Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4116 CPU @ 2.10GHz (24 cores)
256 GB RAM, 300GB RAID1, 3x4 10G Chelsio T540-CO-SR

A good reason to stay upgraded is to keep up to date on security fixes that have gone in since the 18 series.

If you check the patch notes so far you can see the changes along with checking the SVEs open for your version.

Why not wait a little bit until 19.1.7? It's just around the corner.

Upgrade will land in 19.1.4 anyway. There's no reason to wait for any particular version as it's just an excuse to not having to deal with upgrades and a potential amount of migration work necessary.

I don't like suggestions that "maximum" 19.1.4 is advisable as they come from the same person who has not been satisfied with 19.1 at all and we have had a clash or two about it. It's like staying in a cheese shop telling other customers what cheese not to buy and not buying anything there yourself. It's just odd.

Cheers,
