Quote from: patient0 on March 02, 2025, 02:51:20 PMWell that's odd, what is the keyboard mapping in use on the console?

And how do you reset the password, from the GUI?

Well it's a web console for the VPS, don't know what the mapping there is.
I don't reset password from gui, I do boot into the ISO to do it.

Maybe I shoud try a password without special characters, will do.

Quote from: patient0 on March 02, 2025, 02:21:58 PMOh, I misread, console not SSH.

Are you sure that you booted into the installation on the VPS and not into the CD/ISO?

I am sure, I ejected the ISO before booting into the system. I can log in to the web gui with the password I set during the installation process, but not at rescue console like the person in a youtube video did. I don't understand it, maybe I should check with an ISO of 24.x version.

No SSH is not enabled, and I am sittting at the rescue console of the VPS. To the outside, only the web gui is open at the moment.

Hello,

I did a fresh install of opnsense 25.1 on a VPS from the ISO. Only the WAN interface was configured during installation. I can successfully connect to the web gui and log in. But I can't log in as root on the console of the server. I am sure that I typed the password correctly.

I can reset the password, can login in at the console afterwards, but then can't log in at the web gui anymore. What is this and what am I doing wrong? Couldn't find any solution by searching in the forum and with google.

regards,
Stefan
