I have an OpenVPN instance running on a vlan such that anything on that vlan goes through the VPN. The device is ovpnc1, the assigned interface is named (for example) ABC_Interface. Everything works; so far, so good.
Let's say that I want to rename ABC_Interface to something else (e.g. XYZ_Interface). All of a sudden, traffic on the VPN vlan is going out on the regular WAN. Changing the name back to ABC_Interface restores desired VPN functionality.
Seems like something somewhere is still carrying the original interface name and interfering with routing. Thoughts?
