sorry to hear you're also having problems

i reverted to kernel 24.7.8 and it's been well behaved ever since

a lot of people seem to be crying about the newer kernels so clearly something is not right with those

you could also perhaps try bouncing the parent interface rather than the VLANs

my affected system is pretty simple and doesn't do anything with VLANs, LAGG, etc

happy to help in any way i can, best of luck and merry Christmas

be me
casually update opnsense (yeah i know, couldn't tell you the previous version but no more than a couple month old)
this is taking a while ... ok coffee
5 mins later look at console, opnsense looks running and normal after update & reboot
yet i clearly upgraded to a notwork, won't even ping
reboot it, nope, reboot again, nope
sigh
login via console with big ol' password (fun)
/var/log/system/latest.log is full of:
arpresolve: can't allocate llinfo for xx.xx.xx.xx on vtnet0

bounce the interface

ifconfig vtnet0 down
ifconfig vtnet0 up

it remembers how to network now, webif is accessible
revert to 24.7.8 kernel with this:

opnsense-update -kr 24.7.8

then reboot, seems fine after that
