Support for RESTful APIs in dynamic DNS, in particular for custom DNS providers would greatly expand it's usability.
Support is already mostly there with the dedicated endpoints such as aws and gandi, but adding your own requires going into the CLI and copying and adjusting one of the existing endpoints in /usr/local/opnsense/scripts/ddclient/lib/account/.
The ability to set headers and content in the GUI for custom endpoints would really expand it's usability.

The interval of dynamic DNS lookup should also move to cron instead of being built-in, perhaps even per-account, so it's more in line with other services such as ACME client.

This'll explain why I didn't have any network this morning. I've applied the patch, will reboot once the chance presents itself (or the system crashes, whichever comes first).

How can I apply the patch and restart the service without overwriting the configuration? pluginctl overwrited dot.conf. *BSD is not my strong suit.

nevermind, realized opnsense uses template files after using my eyes and looking at the repo properly. All fixed now. Thank you!

Hi,

I've run into the same issue immediately after rebooting right after updating to 24.7.10.
I also thought it could be due to NTP, so I've set the primary NTP server to the IP of 0.opnsense.pool.ntp.org (95.211.123.72), restarted ntp server, reenabled DoT and restarted unbount, but continue to have the same error.
