Hi all,
I've been using PFsense for several years and just recently switched over to opnsense. I'm currently struggling to setup a guest network. I have the network vlan'ed off. It's setup as 192.168.9.1/24. I have opnsense handing out DHCP. What I'd like to do is have majority of the subnet throttled, but I'd like to have a segment of the range that isn't throttled so just know I have a small pool of addresses for things like my XBOX, IOT, guest laptops that I work on, etc, that aren't throttled nearly as much.
What would be the easiest way to set it up so that I could setup say, the first 50 addresses of the range (or last 50 if it's easier. Also if CIDR notation is going to be specific, I believe I would have the option for about 66 addresses, which is fine with me.) to use different pipes? I believe previously I was able to use an alias in pfsense to do this, but that doesn't look to be an option with opnsense?
Also, I know this post is maybe lacking some details, but I didn't want to get into the weeds of the various things I've tried so far, and was hoping that maybe it's just a simple; "Do this, this, and this" and it will work. I fully suspect I'm just missing something minor as there is just a few slight differences with opnsense and pfsense. Admittedly, I also know it's likely just my own issues of not realizing that the missing key is maybe just sitting in a menu I don't realize it's under.
