It turns out the issue wasn't the installation but the Cisco APs I have that had the same IP!

I recently setup my HP Prodesk 600 G1 Desktop Mini PC (Quad core i5, 8gb ram; + lots of fiddling with hardware). I followed the instructions to setup a transparent filtering bridge (guide here:https://www.zenarmor.com/docs/network-security-tutorials/how-to-configure-transparent-filtering-bridge-on-opnsense; youtube vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTUvlFfThPw )

I did the initial setup with just the lan port connected (wan was disconnected) and everything seemed to work fine.

When I hooked up the wan port and connected the lan to my switch - it was indeed passing through (wifi/ access points and all devices connected to it worked) - however the web interface was no longer accessible. Iwas able to ping to the same IP address used during setup, but for some reason the web interface would not load.

I switched it back to lan only - and wallah - webgui working again.

Any suggestions?

I thought maybe it was the IPV6 being turned on in the WAN port - so I disabled that - and still the same problem persisted. Any help would be appreciated!
