Seems to be fixed by removing the LAGG from the SB8200. It's on firmware AB01.01.009.51_080720_183.0A.NSH and running a LAG is known to cause an issue with this model of modem.

Hi all, glad to be here on the forum. Been lurking and learning the usage of shell tunables and the like.

I got a second hand switch (Netgear GS724Tv4) to enable LAGG that led me to upgrading from PFSense 2.4 or so and switching over here to OPNSENSE. Ever sense I upgraded from 2.45 haven't been able to get rock steady 900mbits download when the ISP isn't loaded. It was literally forgotten in a corner cuz it never needed anything.

Running a J1900 with 8 gigs of ram with HP NC364T (quad intel em) bare metal. SB8200 modem, LAGG to router, LAGG to gigabit switch. Paying for 940down/10up and after a lot of tuning I can get close to 800 Mbps on tests again. Flow control disabled, EEE disabled, net.inet.rss.bits 2 net.inet.rss.enabled 1 net.isr.bindthreads 1 net.isr.maxthreads -1 net.inet.ip.intr_queue_maxlen 3000 because 1000 had drops kern.ipc.nmbclusters 1000000

The problem is the internet will frequently crawl to a halt, 6.5 up and down with 700ms ping (30 unloaded).  Or .6down and 8 up at 999ping unloaded

iperf3 client to router 800-900 mbits/sec both directions during this.

Tried restarting Unbound because I'm getting DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN but it did not fix either that or the speed issues. Same with a reboot of the modem.

Inb4 upgrade from the intel atom quad core
