Tutorials and FAQs / Configure OPNSenseon Hyper-V with a Shared NIC
« on: April 20, 2023, 08:57:00 am »
Hi All,
I have just installed OPNSense on a hyper-v server with two NICs. The Hyper-V switches have been configured to share the NICs with the VMs; however, when I configure the OPNSense WAN/LAN ports, I get the message...
arp: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is using my IP address 10.a.b.c on hn1
I need the OPNSense LAN/WAN to share the connection with the host as one connects to the internet and the other to the LAN where all the devices that will use it are located.
If there is a tutorial on this, I would highly appreciate it; as most of the documentation points to using a dedicated NIC that is not accessible to the host OS. I also can only use a "single" IP on the WAN side (so no DHCP).
