High availability / Re: Is this HA config possible ?

Hello,

I have almost the same configuration (with ADSL and PPPoE connection instead of LTE) and it is possible. However, I currently have a little problem with the use of ONT because I don't have a router upstream (https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=32377.0)

Hello to all,

I have a high availability configuration with 2 OPNsense. However, contrary to the tuto (https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/carp.html), I don't have a router on the WAN interface. Indeed, I have a configuration similar to this one (https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/sfr_red_fr_ftth.html), that is to say that OPNsense uses DHCP/DHCPv6 to connect.
However, in this way, the MASTER and the BACKUP are constantly trying to connect simultaneously, which causes connection problems. If I disable the Gateway on the BACKUP, the MASTER works perfectly. Similarly, if I disable the gateway on the MASTER, the BACKUP works.

In order not to need to do this manually, I would like to know if it is possible to create an automation (with myit if I understand correctly), in order to disable the Gateway when the status is BACKUP, and enable the Gateway when the status is MASTER. An email notification at each change of Gateway status would be welcome (I think there is already an email at the change between MASTER and BACKUP, no ?)

Does anyone have the solution? We could add it to the official documentation ?

Thanks a lot.

Damien
